Dear Chase & Logan,
one of my roommates is very inconsiderate. He plays his music really loud, he’s always hogging the TV, and he never cleans up after himself. I want to say something, but he’s my friend and I don’t want to hurt his feelings or anything. Any ideas?

Dear AnnoyedRoomie,
Don’t worry, this is a very common problem for kids at PCA. Most of us had our own bedrooms back at home, but then we get to school and suddenly have to share with roommates. The best way to deal with an inconsiderate roommate is just to talk to him – but do it nicely! Explain that some of his habits are annoying you. Then maybe you can ask him if there’s anything you do that annoys him. If he mentions something, don’t get mad – just tell him you’ll try to work on it. It’s all about compromise. If this guy is really your friend, he’ll understand and try to work with you.

Dear AnnoyedRoomie,
I can’t believe what I’m reading. “He’s my friend and I don’t want to hurt his feelings” – what’s wrong with you?! Isn’t that what friends are for?!  I hurt my friends’ feelings every day. But, whatever you do -- don’t talk to him! Talking is for girls and has never solved anything. My suggestion would be to either punch him somewhere that will leave a bruise, or smash his stereo. You can’t play loud music with broken speakers. My last suggestion would be to stop whining so much. Your roommate actually sounds like a pretty cool guy. In fact, could you give me his name? I think I need to hang out with this dude.
